After experiencing massage for the first time when turning 40 (I'd literally gone from 0 to 3 massages in 3 weeks!) I made a decision to learn how to massage and make people feel the way I did after stepping off that first massage table. It wasn't just how I felt physically, but psychological too. Initially all the courses that seemed to be on offer were beauty based, with massage just being one module of a beauticians course and that wasn't what I was looking for. After months of research I finally came across the perfect course. I have gained diplomas in Holistic Massage, with Anatomy, Physiology & Pathology and Ayurvedic diet & lifestyle. In addition I have qualified in Ayurvedic therapies and have been working on Panchkarma retreats for the past 8 years, I'm a Reiki 2 practitioner and have done many CPD courses over the years, in both eastern and western massage and treatments, across the UK. I practice in Gringley On The Hill, on the border of South Yorkshire and North Nottinghamshire.
My massage style is adaptable, each style, whilst being relaxing, has a different aim, for example one of the aims of an Ayurvedic massage would be to release tension of the mind, body and consciousness, this is done through the application of touch, oil, heat or marma points. Deep tissue massage would look at releasing structural restriction, using very little oil. Results may vary from person to person and I suggest you give one or more styles a try and see what benefits my treatments bring to you.
